Day One - Off to the U.K.

Things happen and we are back in the U.K. For Madeleine's graduation next week.

I'll start the story with something that has no pictures. The rest of he family left on Wednesday because the fares were much lower. I left Thursday. Due to my issues, I fly economy plus.

I get on the flight, sit down and five minutes later, my seat mates arrive. In the middle is Gary, and on the aisle is is John. They have been in Yakima on business. They introduce themselves, so British, and we are on our way. They are good dune and, apparently, I now have drinking partners. (I know, you're shocked.)

We have a lovely time through dinner. Unfortunately, I am told I was too loud during dessert.  I was able to adjust. My seatmates were quite impressed. I told them it wasn't the first time I have heard that. We all managed to sleep and arrived at LHR quite refreshed.

Customs, bag claim, Heathrow Express and I have found my family. We head out through Grosvenor Park.

It's off to lunch, Burger and Lobster, then, I am sent to the Wallace to look at renaissance paintings (I suck at shopping). This is very typical. Lots of dead animals and dogs..

They have a Rembrandt.

Here's the entrance.

Next up was a nap and a shower (no photos). Then we headed out to see The Mousetrap. Cathie wanted to see a British play, and that is about as British as it gets.

After the play, we found a nice Italian restaurant for a light dinner, then, back to the hotel for the end of a long day.
