Moving Day - Two

I finally woke up to weather that I am used to, got up, ate breakfast and made the five minute walk to the train station. It's time to go meet everyone in Edinburgh.

Due to a derailment near London, my first train is 20 then 30 then 40 minutes late. I have two more connections to make.

The connection in Worcester doesn't go to the station that I need in Birmingham. I have to walk 5 minutes to the New Street station which is now called Grand Central (thank you local old man for helping me with that one).

The Virgin Train guys send me to National Rail to get my ticket change authorized because of the delay and they put me on a 1:03 train, but, tell me to go talk to the Virgin Train guys to put me on the 12:15. With six minutes to go, the guy takes my ticket, goes behind a door, comes back and says I'm on. Now I have to find the train. I get to the platform two minutes before it arrives. I'm only going to be 20 minutes late. This makes my life so much easier. I don't have to arrange for after hours key pickup.

I get settled on the train and five minutes later a group sits down behind.  There is some hooting and cheering and a very hairy man is wearing a pink satin dress. It turns out I'm sitting next to (and I say this with love) the big gay bachelor party weekend in Edinburgh. They are throwing back champagne and red wine and having fun. I stop by and tell them about Jim and Lyle's wedding.  I get the big Awwwwww! Then back to my seat and my headphones.

I arrived in Edinburgh, checked into our apartment, and, met up with Kate and Madeleine. Cathie contacted us at 8 and we met up with her, Alexandra and Belinda for French food.
